Rental Agreement
- By renting a vehicle from Platina Car Rental, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and agree to all of them.
Insurance and liability
- All vehicles are covered by all-risk insurance with a deductible of USD 500.
- Driving off-road voids the insurance coverage and the full deductible becomes payable.
- Insurance is not valid when driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Drivers must be at least 23 years old. Our insurance does not cover younger drivers.
- Damage caused while driving without a valid driver's licence is not covered and is the renter's responsibility.
- The renter is responsible for the vehicle at all times. Please do not leave valuables inside.
In case of an accident
- Call 9233 immediately and do not move the vehicle from the accident site.
- For any other problem with the vehicle, call 690 0335 or 687 1546 (until 7:00 PM). A call-out fee of USD 20 applies for on-site assistance.
- If the vehicle needs towing, contact Economic Car Center: 514 8555, 678 8595 or 522 4493. For general assistance, including keys locked inside the vehicle, call 9247.
Damage and mechanical problems
- New scratches and dents are the renter's responsibility.
- A flat tyre is replaced at the renter's own expense.
- Engine overheating and oil problems are at the renter's risk if the rental company is not notified in time. Stop driving and call us immediately.
Security
- The steering wheel lock and car alarm must be used at all times. Theft resulting from failure to do so is at the renter's own risk.
- At night the vehicle must be parked inside a gated area, with the alarm set and the steering lock applied.
Returning the vehicle
- The vehicle must be returned with a full tank. If not, a surcharge of USD 100 applies.
- The vehicle must be returned clean. A cleaning fee of USD 20 applies if it is not.
- Smoking in the vehicle is not permitted. A fee of USD 250 applies.
- Pets are not allowed in the vehicle.
Driving in Curaçao
- Traffic rules in Curaçao differ from those in other countries. Please familiarise yourself with local road signs and rules before driving.
- Roads become slippery when wet. Reduce your speed in the rain.
- Do not drive through deep water or large puddles.
- Avoid parking in narrow spaces.
- Keep the vehicle keys dry — do not take them into the sea or a pool.
